Alamanda Villas Langkawi do not offer regular café services, hence we would like to share some of our recommendations for places to eat around the island.

 

A number of excellent chefs have made Langkawi their home. They have remarkable resources to use, including exquisite seafood and fresh ingredients from local family farms. 

 

Below are some of the popular restaurant options for you to consider when you stay at Alamanda Villas Langkawi.

 

When planning your trip, please feel free to call and ask us for recommendations or to make your reservations. Also, keep in mind that most restaurants in the area close for service by 10 to 11 p.m.

Pantai Cenang Area

Thirstday (Western, Beachfront, $$) 

 

This beachfront bar and restaurant serves lunch and dinner. For Western menu, try their Signature 4-Cheese Pizza, Smoked Duck Pizza, Aglio Olio Pasta and Fisherman’s Platter.

 

Thirstday also serves excellent Asian menu such as Pan-Seared Sea Bass with Spicy Coconut Sauce, Butter Lobster and Chicken Satay. Beverages include fine coffees, cocktails and mocktails.

Orkid Ria (Malaysian-Chinese, $$)

 

Orkid Ria is located right next beside Thirstday, where it serves Malaysian-Chinese seafood cuisine for lunch and dinner. Choose from a wide range of mouthwatering dishes such as Cereal Tiger Prawn, Garlic Oysters, Black Pepper Crabs, Deep-Fried Calamaris and Steamed Fish with Soy Sauce.

Tomato Nasi Kandar (Indian Muslim, $)

 

For an Indian-Muslim style breakfast, look no further than Tomato Nasi Kandar where you can enjoy fresh Roti Canai (Indian flatbread with curry), Thosai (Indian crepe with chutney) and Teh Tarik (signature Malaysian milk tea beverage).

This 24-hour restaurant serves lunch, dinner, and everything in-between and it is the perfect place to get your authentic Indian food fix. This cafe (which is also a guesthouse) serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have a high-quality, fresh menu that features a range of authentic local dishes and a good mix of western delicacies.

 

Enjoy excellent breakfast such as eggs with bread, butter and homemade jam, colourful smoothie bowls and fluffy pancakes. For lunch and dinner, they offer a variety of dishes from Portuguese-style Chicken Devil Curry, Vegan Special Ciabatta, to Grilled Spiced Rack of Lamb.

Haroo Korean Restaurant is located near the laid back beach area, Pantai Tengah and has a contemporary setting. They serve light Korean fare and full entrees. Smaller selections include spring rolls, tofu salad, chicken dumplings and steamed eggs.

 

Some of their top-notch entrees are their Seafood Pancake, Claypot Bulgogi (Korean marinated sliced beef) and Sundubu Jjigae (Spicy Kimchi Stew with Tofu). Apart from being very kid-friendly with a children’s menu, vegetarian and vegan dishes can also be made upon request.

Open from noon till midnight daily, Sun Cafe provides everything needed to satisfy an appetite, from a quick snack to a full meal. Select from fresh sandwiches, home-style salads, soups, pastas, desserts, and pizzas. Their specialty dish, Grilled Fillet of Barracuda, is prepared with freshly caught Barracuda off local shores and marinated with honey and lemon before being served over a bed of spinach, with potato gratin at the side.

Hidden Beach House serves Western & Malaysian favourites in an upscale setting and stunning view without the upscale price.

 

For breakfast, do try their Nasi Lemak Ayam, Full English Breakfast, Roti Jala with Chicken Curry and Steamed Bread with Homemade Kaya Jam. Their entrees include Salmon Pasta, Hidden Burger, Fish & Chips and Margherita Pizza.

This seafood restaurant is equipped with a beautiful garden and cozy atmosphere on the pier. For the ultimate freshness, diners may pick their own live sea creature of choice from the aquarium before cooking.
